The most common ARC enemy in the game. Wasps are basic flying drones armed with a rapid-fire gun that deals steady chip damage. They appear in nearly every encounter and are often the first ARC a new player faces.
Wasps hover at low to medium altitude and fire rapid bursts of projectiles at detected players. They strafe laterally between bursts to avoid return fire. While individually not very threatening, they almost always appear in groups and their sustained fire adds up quickly. They are attracted to gunfire and will converge on active combat areas.
The Wasp is a small-class ARC machine with 80 HP and a danger rating of 2/5. Small ARC machines like the Wasp are individually weak but rarely come alone. Expect a swarm — keep moving, don't waste high-tier ammo, and remember that the noise of clearing a swarm draws every rat within earshot.
The Wasp has 1 weak point: Thrusters (rear/underside) (2x). Hitting the thrusters (rear/underside) is the highest-value target — every shot landing there does 2x damage compared to body shots, which means you can drop the Wasp with roughly 1 well-placed precision rounds from a mid-tier rifle. Body shots will work, but you'll burn through three to four times the ammo and pull every ARC patrol within a few hundred metres.
You'll find the Wasp spawning in Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, Blue Gate, Stella Montis. Common drops include ARC Alloy, Light Ammo, Simple Gun Parts, Wasp Driver, which makes it a priority target for Raiders running crafting routes for the Workshop tech tree — the rare components from this enemy fast-track several mid-game upgrades.
