A terrifying aerial ARC machine introduced in the Flashpoint update. The Vaporizer combines the speed of a Rocketeer with a Matriarch-grade energy shield and precision laser attacks that will obliterate your shield and set you on fire in under two seconds. It patrols the airspace around ARC Operations and Close Scrutiny events. Killing it drops the Vaporizer Regulator required to craft the Dolabra energy shotgun.
The Vaporizer stays airborne using eight small rotors (two per corner, similar to a Snitch) and patrols with unpredictable movement patterns. It engages with devastating precision laser attacks that deal heavy sustained damage and can set players on fire. When rotors are destroyed, its speed drops and altitude lowers, making it more vulnerable. Its wreckage splits into 2-3 separate loot nodes upon death — missing one means potentially losing a Vaporizer Regulator.
The Vaporizer is a large-class ARC machine with 8,000 HP and a danger rating of 8/5. Large ARC machines like the Vaporizer are mid-difficulty fights that punish overextension. They take time to drop and can stagger you while other ARC patrols converge on the gunfire — pick your moment carefully.
The Vaporizer has 2 weak points: Rotors (8 small rotors, 2 per corner — destroy to reduce speed and altitude) (1.5x), Core (yellow canister on the belly, exposed after stripping underside armor) (3x). Hitting the rotors (8 small rotors, 2 per corner — destroy to reduce speed and altitude) is the highest-value target — every shot landing there does 1.5x damage compared to body shots, which means you can drop the Vaporizer with roughly 107 well-placed precision rounds from a mid-tier rifle. Body shots will work, but you'll burn through three to four times the ammo and pull every ARC patrol within a few hundred metres.
You'll find the Vaporizer spawning in Dam Battlegrounds, Blue Gate, Spaceport, Buried City, Stella Montis. Common drops include ARC Circuitry, ARC Powercell, ARC Alloy, Vaporizer Regulator, which makes it a priority target for Raiders running crafting routes for the Workshop tech tree — the rare components from this enemy fast-track several mid-game upgrades.
