Surveyor

Description

Large spherical rolling ARC machines that patrol zones with a powerful laser weapon. Surveyors are heavily built balls of metal that roll along routes, stopping to fire a precision laser beam at detected players. Their armor is formidable except when they open up to fire.

Behavior

Surveyors roll along patrol paths, periodically stopping to scan the area. When they detect a player, they halt and open their outer shell to deploy a laser weapon. While firing, their inner mechanisms are exposed and vulnerable. Between laser volleys they close back up and reposition. The laser is highly accurate and deals significant damage.

• 1The Surveyor is only vulnerable when it opens up to fire its laser. Use cover and wait for that window to deal damage.
• 2Shooting the closed outer shell does minimal damage. Save your ammo for the exposed core.
• 3Bait the laser attack from behind cover, then lean out and unload on the exposed internals before it closes up.
• 4Surveyors spawn on Dam, Buried City, Spaceport, and Blue Gate. They do not appear on Stella Montis.
