Scout drones (also known as Spotters) that fly at high altitude scanning for players. Snitches are not directly dangerous but their true threat is revealing your position to every other ARC in the area. Letting one live can turn a quiet looting run into a swarm fight.
Snitches fly high above the terrain on patrol routes, scanning the ground below with a visible detection sweep. When they spot a player, they emit an alarm signal that marks the player's position and alerts all nearby ARCs. They then attempt to flee to maintain line of sight while reinforcements converge. Destroying a Snitch quickly prevents the alert from fully propagating.
The Snitch is a small-class ARC machine with 120 HP and a danger rating of 3/5. Small ARC machines like the Snitch are individually weak but rarely come alone. Expect a swarm — keep moving, don't waste high-tier ammo, and remember that the noise of clearing a swarm draws every rat within earshot.
The Snitch has 1 weak point: Scanner array (underside) (2x). Hitting the scanner array (underside) is the highest-value target — every shot landing there does 2x damage compared to body shots, which means you can drop the Snitch with roughly 2 well-placed precision rounds from a mid-tier rifle. Body shots will work, but you'll burn through three to four times the ammo and pull every ARC patrol within a few hundred metres.
You'll find the Snitch spawning in Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, Blue Gate, Stella Montis. Common drops include ARC Thermo Lining, ARC Synthetic Resin, Sensors, Snitch Scanner, which makes it a priority target for Raiders running crafting routes for the Workshop tech tree — the rare components from this enemy fast-track several mid-game upgrades.
