A flying ARC drone that spews fire from above, adding aerial pressure and forcing vertical awareness. The Firefly is very aggressive and hard to shake once it locks on. It typically patrols alongside Wasps or Hornets, though it sometimes appears alone. Added in the Shrouded Sky update, it thrives during Hurricane conditions where low visibility makes its flame attacks even more dangerous.
Fireflies patrol at medium altitude, often alongside Wasp or Hornet groups. When they detect a player, they make a whirring sound and rush toward the target. During combat, the Firefly performs continuous flamethrower runs while moving straight forward. Before using its flamethrower, you can hear it release gas as a warning. While attacking, a yellow fuel canister becomes exposed as a critical weak point.
The Firefly is a medium-class ARC machine with 200 HP and a danger rating of 5/5. Medium-class ARC machines are the workhorse threat in ARC Raiders. The Firefly is dangerous in numbers and will pin you down with sustained fire, but a focused burst into the right weak point ends most engagements in seconds.
The Firefly has 2 weak points: Fuel tank (yellow canister, exposed when attacking) (3x (causes explosion + fire)), Front thrusters (armored) (1.5x). Hitting the fuel tank (yellow canister, exposed when attacking) is the highest-value target — every shot landing there does 3x (causes explosion + fire) damage compared to body shots, which means you can drop the Firefly with roughly 2 well-placed precision rounds from a mid-tier rifle. Body shots will work, but you'll burn through three to four times the ammo and pull every ARC patrol within a few hundred metres.
You'll find the Firefly spawning in Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, Blue Gate. Common drops include ARC Powercell, ARC Alloy, Synthesized Fuel, Chemicals and 2 other crafting components, which makes it a priority target for Raiders running crafting routes for the Workshop tech tree — the rare components from this enemy fast-track several mid-game upgrades.
