A heavily armored ground-based ARC that rolls at high speed like a Fireball, but far more dangerous. When a Comet spots a Raider, it locks on and charges at them, splitting open its armor to reveal an explosive core before detonating with a devastating seismic boom. It breaks defensive setups and punishes static play. Added in the Shrouded Sky update.
Comets patrol near larger ARC units until they detect a player. Upon detection, they begin rolling toward the target at high speed. When close enough, the Comet splits open its heavy armor plating to expose a glowing core, then detonates in a massive seismic explosion that destroys itself. If destroyed before detonation, the Comet Igniter can be salvaged from the wreckage.
The Comet is a medium-class ARC machine with 150 HP and a danger rating of 6/5. Medium-class ARC machines are the workhorse threat in ARC Raiders. The Comet is dangerous in numbers and will pin you down with sustained fire, but a focused burst into the right weak point ends most engagements in seconds.
The Comet has 1 weak point: Core (exposed when charging to detonate) (3x). Hitting the core (exposed when charging to detonate) is the highest-value target — every shot landing there does 3x damage compared to body shots, which means you can drop the Comet with roughly 1 well-placed precision rounds from a mid-tier rifle. Body shots will work, but you'll burn through three to four times the ammo and pull every ARC patrol within a few hundred metres.
You'll find the Comet spawning in Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, Spaceport, Blue Gate. Common drops include ARC Alloy, Crude Explosives, Advanced ARC Powercell, ARC Coolant and 3 other crafting components, which makes it a priority target for Raiders running crafting routes for the Workshop tech tree — the rare components from this enemy fast-track several mid-game upgrades.
